The A. "braunshauseni"'s photo album

  The A. "braunshauseni"
She's starting to get more color.

Species Information:
There is some debate about the taxonomy of this species. It could really be A. geroldi or something else. I don't know of a real common name, perhaps braunshausen's pink toe or giant pink toe are also possiblities. Supposedly they're from Brazil, and are the largest pink toe species (7+"?).

Feeding:
She gets medium to large crickets.

Housing:
The cage for this spider is a common medium sized pet-pal set on end. The lid has been modified by gluing some plastic in one end to hold in the substrate. There is a cork bark slab for climbing.

I try to keep the humidity around 70-75%. It's usually about 80-84°F in my spider room, where it is kept. Because it's still really too small for a water dish, humidity is maintained by misting and moist substrate.

There are bits of webbing all over the cage, but nothing yet to constitute a shelter of any sort.

 Medium pet-pal arboreal setup
This cage for the P. formosa is identical to the one fo the A. "braunshauseni".

Temperment:
She showed some aggression when I unpacked her, but hasn't much since then. Any aggression at all is unusual for most Avicularia, so I was somewhat surprised.
