April 4, 2001:
Sorry about the lack of updates. I probably won't be updating every single molt in the diary anymore, or updating the "upcoming molts" section, but I'll still track them on the individual spider pages and mention them on the main page news section.

I put Speck in a shark cage with one of the females yesterday, and I saw them responding to each other strongly last night, so I should be able to let them go at it in a day or two.

April 19, 2001:
There have been some big taxonomic changes, notably Pseudotheraphosa apophysis is now Theraphosa apophysis. Also Brazilopelma is now synonymous with Nhandu making Braziloplema coloratovillosum Nhandu coloratovillosum.

Also, speck has been living amicably with the female for some time now, so I'm going to house him with the other female soon hoping to get two matings. Copyright ©1999-2010 Thomas Schumm
