Blue baby.

It was crawling all over the place.

Tick (Avicularia versicolor)...

Get yourself one of these beauties! This picture just doesn't do it justice! You might notice the dead crickets she's hovering over.

She was kind enough to press up against the glass so we could see her underside. Can she (I hope she's a she) be sexed from this picture? Higher resolution originals are available.

This is her web. She always stays in the middle unless she's adding on to it. It's pretty much sealed off in this picture because she's not eating. You can also see all the poop she's sprayed all over the cage.

After she's molted (now 5th instar), and then fattened up a bit, she looks like this.

She usually hangs out here, at the top entrance to her web.

(02/06/2000) She wouldn't come out all the way, but you can see how her carapace is starting to turn green. Her abdomen is also quite pinkish, but you can't see it in this picture. Eventually, I'll take her out of the cage for a photo shoot.

She came out far enough on 02/08/2000 to see her pink bum.

After her previous molt she changed DRAMATICALLY in color.
